Protect Your Clients from Property Fraud—Before It Happens

Title fraud is a growing concern across Florida, and it’s more sophisticated than ever. Scammers are posing as legitimate owners—especially of vacant land and investment properties—and attempting to sell them without the real owner’s knowledge.

Even with strong internal protections in place at The Title Link, it’s important that property owners (and their agents) take an extra step in staying vigilant.

✅ Florida Clerks’ Property Alert Services

Every Florida county offers a free service that alerts property owners when any official document is recorded in their name—whether it’s a deed, lien, mortgage, or satisfaction of mortgage. It’s one of the most effective ways to catch potential fraud early.

How It Works:

  • The property owner registers their name and/or property information.

  • They receive an email alert if anything is recorded under that name.

  • If something looks off, they can contact their Clerk’s office immediately.

🔐 How We Protect Your Deals:

  • We verify seller identity with photo ID and additional authentication when red flags appear.

  • We do not accept wiring instructions or signatures via unsecured email.

  • We educate your clients on safe practices at every step of the transaction.

If a seller is difficult to reach, insists on cash only, or claims to be “traveling abroad,” let us know. We’ve seen the scams, and we know how to stop them.
